July 20, 2026 v0.41.0 → v0.43.1 plus panel 0.9.7 — three headliners in one day.

GPT-5.6: Sol, Terra, and Luna

The GPT-5.6 family lands for ChatGPT/Codex users with the extended effort scale (max, ultra) — the bundled Codex SDK moves to the field-verified 0.145 alpha pairing, pre-5.6 models are deprecated (the picker hides them whenever the account has the 5.6 family), and the ChatGPT-direct default is now gpt-5.6-luna, successor to the retired gpt-5.4-mini (#241, #244; panel 0.9.7 extends the effort slider). Full rundown on the blog.

Train a character LoRA by asking

The CLI LoRA trainer (P1) ships (#237): seven train_* tools (train_list_flows, train_prepare_dataset, train_start, train_status, train_cancel, train_build_image, train_doctor) wrap ostris ai-toolkit inside a headless GPU Docker image, so training character LoRAs on FLUX.1-dev is an agent-orchestrated flow — config generation, a crash-safe job registry, live step/loss/sample progress, and a handoff that drops the finished .safetensors into models/loras/ and catalogs it. Ships the train-character-lora skill; end-to-end proven on a 4090. The story.

Blind mode: from prompt to mechanism

A user proved the panel’s Blind toggle was a polite request, not a guarantee. Now it mechanically gates every image-returning tool (#245): blind tabs spawn their tool server with COMFYUI_MCP_BLIND=1, and a single registration-boundary wrapper replaces image blocks with an honest “withheld” note — on both the full MCP surface and the compact router. Toggling Blind live respawns the tab’s tool server at idle. The full confession.

Gemini, revived

Both old catalog entries had started returning 404 from Google, so every new Gemini user failed on their first prompt — the catalog now leads with Google’s floating aliases (gemini-pro-latest, gemini-flash-latest) so it stops rotting, and the backend selects API-key auth when GEMINI_API_KEY is set instead of retrying Google’s retired free OAuth sign-in forever (#242). Verified live against the Gemini API.

Fixes

  • Text-preview node results are no longer invisible to the agent (0.43.1) — nodes like Preview as Text / ShowText publish into history’s ui dict rather than writing a file, and only images/videos were harvested, so caption and prompt-builder workflows completed with nothing for the agent to read. History analysis now extracts text as text_outputs on get_job_status and the job-watcher completion record, tolerant of the shapes seen in the wild (#247).
  • diagnose_run — a canvas-less “why did my render fail?” for mobile parity with the panel’s error tools (#243).
